Today I started outlining the second draft of my manuscript. This might seem confusing as I just finished the second draft at the start of December.
I’m working backwards. I want to start the third draft with a very clear picture of the story — the kind of picture I did not have for the first or second draft where I kind of just winged it.
So what I’m doing now is reading the second draft, then outlining it. Once I have the outline, I’m going to make changes to it. The outline with the changes will become my outline for the third draft. Not the most ideal system but I think it will work for me.
Today I outlined the first two chapters and already I can see changes I want to make. I hope to have all 24 chapters outlined by the end of next week at the latest.
